In the great rainforest of Life, lived a monkey and a snake. The monkey was raised by parents who never told her that she was a wondrous creature. So, therefore she had no idea of her own true self. The monkey's saving Grace, was her grandmother, who taught her about "The One Who is Love". He Who created her, and the beautiful Rainforest of Life. The monkey grew in faith of "The One Who is Love". Still young, she did not yet know, who she was. Mistakenly, she fell in love with the snake. Over the years, the snake bit her many times. These torments of betrayal strenthened the monkeys Faith. For she would ask "The One Who is Love", to please help her in these times of great trial. Slowly, over days and years, "The One Who is Love", healed the monkeys heart, and she began to know who she was. A beloved creation of the One Who Loved her. So she saw clearly that this snake was to be feared, for he could never be trusted. At last she was free to live out her destiny, that was always planned for her by "The One Who is Love". To know her own true self, to love and be loved. A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

This is so well written Ellie.. but I hope it is not from your own experience of being a monkey.. mm, I know several "monkeys" who, unfortunately don't want to see that their snakes are ruining them, no matter how deep they bite.. You have shed such a beautiful light on Faith with this, Ellie.. and on the power of His love.. I wish that all 'monkeys' could see this too.. Enjoyed muchly. Oh wow nicely done here. The title caught my eye and the poem didn't dissapoint me. Very nicely done. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

Ellie, "The One Who Is Love" has done a wonderful job with that monkey, and you have done a wonderful job with your parable. Love to you, my friend. To love another person is to see the face of God. |

I love this, Ellie! It's so neat to see a 'parable' again - such a great way to portray wisdom, and you do it very well indeed. Great advice, fine picture! Lary |
