For the Sake of Love For the sake of love, I journeyed far I sailed the ocean’s rim I climbed each mountain barrier So I could be with him For love, I gave up all my dreams And followed theirs instead I toiled each day to feed them well And tuck them into bed For the sake of love, I nourished them With affection through the years And laughed along with all their fun And sometimes cried their tears For love, I sometimes failed the mark And many times I cried But now the fruits of all I’d done Reflects within their eyes For all the joys I reap each day I thank the Lord above And don’t regret one hour of strife Lived for the sake of love Elizabeth Santos |

Liz:I can so very much relate to this poem. A wife and mothers heart never stops giving. You have captured well the essence of a loving and giving heart and written it stupendously, as usual! Love, ellie P.S. see you soon! Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |
