Intrusion In and out my climbing roses A mother robin flew And from my window I could spot A little beak or two Curious now to know the count I opened up the door The mother flew with rumpled speed She’d never flown before I kept my distance from the nest And stretched to take a peek But mother robin then unleashed A reprimanding screech I backed away and went inside To view the nest once more And back she came with food in mouth Continuing her chore So rude was I to thus intrude Into a bird’s domain Interrupting mother’s feeding As she announced my shame My rose arbor is not my own My sense is finely tuned That I must wait some time before My roses can be pruned Elizabeth Santos |

I love it! Very vivid poem. I am a bird lover as you must be too, and you are so kind to leave your roses unpruned! |

Having seen that beautiful rose arbor I can truly appreciate this! I can just see you carefully trying to get a quick peek! Delightful poem, Elizabeth! Denise |

This must be one of the moments whereby we take our time to appreciate mother nature's gifts! Adorable little robin...and an appreciative host! *S* I LOVE THIS!!!!! If there cannot be equal in affection, then let the one with more be me - midnightblues™ |

Oh, Lizzie~ This is precious. It reminds me of your 'Silhouettes' in your Christmas wreath with the three robin's eggs. Lovely ..... ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
