Unspoken So still this night does lay The creeping wind so cold it burned Too silent without being broken So still my eyes again stay On your figure, turned And all the things unspoken Memories drifted by, too late I want to race and leap into your arms But I know not if your heart beats For all I hear is my own thundering Touching my head and soul deep Reaching through peace How easy could it be, I think? To say what your eyes and body tells? How hard is it to repent? For something never said? Each time I push these tears away Don't remember, leave, be free! I find I can't forget. I want to tell you everything that's me Give you the whole world and more! I've prayed for your life to leap High, higher than mine would ever breach But these wants, desires, pleads Have never left the dreams I sleep So now you're gone; I am too, with you If nothing else I wanted to grieve Not my heart, my gift and companion for you Not my life, and all the shatters you left Instead I cry now for my closed lips And all the things I left unspoken Okay, please give me a break? I haven't written a thing in about 3 months and this was about the work of 5 minutes' spanse. Hello again, guess which maiden's back? ~Astraea "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." "Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things." |

i love this..i'll read it again! a quick chill ran up my spine and onto my cheeks as i got to the end..leaving things unspoken, unsaid...i've done too much of that myself..i've since decided to tell people how i feel..even if they knock me down, at least they know my heart..leave not to chance! good writing--will look for more from you! Astraea, This is an excellent poem I could feel your pain and could relate to the words so often left unsaid. |

Astraea, wish that I could write something like this in 5 minutes. . . it's wonderful. . . The things that are left unsaid are always the things that haunt us. . . Good to see you back. . . --------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

You said so much here, with great feeling. There is no need for an apology. This is so true, we should always part in peace and love, for who knows?, but God, if we ever will see our loved here on earth again. Your poem is beautiful in all aspects. |

For this to have taken so little time must mean that the words are deeply heartfelt. It speaks volumes about someone who thinks that they are speechless. [This message has been edited by Jana Tovey (edited 05-31-2000).] |
