12-6-99 darkness is my freedom-- the very soul of me. here am i... without flesh to delete me-- until the sun rises and i must shield my eyes of me. i will sew my lips shut and you will never touch my truth; you will know me not under the sun... but darkness beckons me-- beneath the moon in the strobe of starlight i stand uncloaked before you. see me, as one without sight would see me. hear me as the whisper of the wind unto the ocean... carress my secrets with a gentle hand-- hold carefully the singed edges of this weathered heart... here am i-- here... in the darkness. --dgvarner |

This is so sad really. Why is the subject so afraid of being revealed by either light or voice, what secrets is the subject hiding. A fear of societal rejection, just a very low self esteem? I feel so sad that darkness is the subjects only friend...if these are the feelings you were conveying, job well done, thanks for the read. |

Beautiful. For the longest time, I was suicidal. I didn't want to be in the presence of others. I hoped that no one else would ever have to fo through that. |

wobbly head bob--its funny..i dont see it as sad really..i like the darkness.."darkness is my freedom"...meaning, you see me for who i am inside--when under the moon,i have no need to fear how others percieve me--i am romantic, i am mysterious, i am rebel, i am secure...i am who i believe i can be..i will tell you things when you cant see my face..the secrets of my heart--whatever they may be.. and ok, maybe thats a self-esteem issue..i admit it (because you cant see my face..!! lol) dgvarner |
