Somewhere in the vast wasteland

0 posted 2000-01-26 04:15 AM

There I sat
Alone in my darkness
With walls all around my heart
Completely closed off to the world

I felt your radiance
Even before you entered the room
I knew my life was about to change
And change it did

You breached my walls
Stormed my defenses
You tossed my troubles away
And took hold of my heart

I still can recall that day
In every detail
And yet I do not know
What has happened to me

You invited me over
We had dinner by candlelight
We cuddled as we watched a movie
As I turned to leave you kissed me goodnight

On the drive home
I wondered, why is this happening
Then with tears of joy, I realized
She is my valentine

This is written with a heavy heart.  I have never like Valentine's Day.  I have yet to have a good one.  The one in this poem, she does exsist.  I messed up and it is over.  I just wish she knew how I truely feel.  Anyways, you guys keep on writing and have a happy Valentine's Day.

This is a beautiful poem, Scorched Dragon. You write well. Have you showed it to her? If you did perhaps that would patch things up. I know I would melt over a poem like this if one had been written for me!

No she hasn't seen it.  No guts on my part.  But maybe I should remember the old saying and advice I have given, "No guts, no glory."  I have always been scared of lossing her friendship, she is a wonderful friend.  But maybe now is the time.  I think I will this Valentine's Day.  Who knows maybe it will be my first good one.  Thanx.

Oh, please do send this to her.  I wish you a happy ending.  Don't let fear get in your way, most of the time truly good friends do appreciate honesty.  (Just a thought).
Anyway, best wishes for your and Happy Valentine's Day.  You will be in our prayers.
