What would Santa bring? What would Santa bring for you, dear child upon my knee What would be the favorite toy to fill your heart with glee I wish for just one special toy, a little music box That plays a tune and spins around, said she with golden locks And what else fits your fancy, then, what else should Santa bring That’s all, she said, a music box, so I can dance and sing A music box it is, said Santa, pondering the tot The only child who didn’t request that Santa bring a lot On Christmas morning, there it was, among the other toys A music box, that played so fine the songs of Christmas joys She carried it where e’er she went and took it to her bed A jingling tune to soothe and lull the little sleepy head The next day it was cold and brisk, with snowflakes in the air She walked clasping her mother’s hand and music box with care While pausing at the corner, she wound up the little key So proud when people turned their heads to see what it could be Delightful music pouring forth into the freezing wind She skipped along to music with a happy little grin Up ahead a mother and child were sitting all alone Huddled on a warming grate, two souls without a home She stopped and wondered at the plight of someone her own age The only place to sleep at night, upon an open grate They looked at one another, then the child turned the key The homeless girl looked up and smiled at her so tenderly Another twist to please the little girl with straggly locks She then stooped down and handed her the lovely music box Then skipped away, her face brushed tingling cold with snow wind driven For in her heart the music played and love was freely given Elizabeth Santos |

What a tender story. I believe a child like you've described will carry music wherever she goes. A very good poem to emphasise the spirit that we all need to possess during this season of giving. God Bless You, Bob <>< |

Simply beautiful! On Christmas we received a gift of love. You've shown that Christmas gift wonderfully. Once again, beautiful. Love is the law, love under will. |

I thought this was great. I really liked this story a lot! I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them! |
