The House of God When Solomon became the king, God asked if there was anything That he desired.Something he Was craving for his dynasty And Solomon at once replied, Let wisdom, knowledge, be his guide. God granted his request and then, He added riches beyond ken! No one had ever seen before The wealth that came to this king's door! Now Solomon decided he Would build a house where God would be So honored, worshipped and revered. With dedication then, he steered The people in their many roles. Encouraged them to reach their goals. Such piles of gold and gems amassed. Exotic woods and brass was cast Into an altar, causing awe, In every eye that ever saw! The decorations were so grand. When it was finished, all the land Held a happy celebration. The ark, borne with jubilation, Was placed within the Holy spot And many sacrifices brought. God was much pleased. His Spirit came, Consumed the offerings with flame, Then entered like a cloud, to dwell Within His mansion for a spell! Trillium, Yes, as in the day of King Solomon, let every House of GOD be so filled with the "Glory of GOD" that the priests can not stand nor minister...... Beautiful, wonderful story as told from the Bible. It seems to me that you have found your nitch here for telling Bible stories in iambic meter. I love the way they flow. They truly are a joy to read. GOD bless. -Bob |

Yes, yes, and this somehow too reminded me of A Tale Of Two Dickens where Dickens writes about Sydney Carton, who is synonymous to Jesus in this fiction: "I believe I hold a sanctuary in all their hearts!" and that was those who suffered in the French Revolution, that to me kind of mirrored King Solomon! (smiles) May we always have Him be the minister of us all, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Betty, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

I wonder if Solomon were alive today if he might have second thoughts about the way to spend the riches God granted him. Lovely poem. Joyce |

Bob: I appreciate your remarks and glad that you are enjoying the poems I've been writing based on Bible stories. I love doing them and have been trying to show some restraint about psoting them, so they aren't too close together. It's nice to know they are well received. Thanks. Betty Lou Hebert |

Joyce: Solomon was such a wise man I'm sure he would use his wisdom well in today's world. Thanks for your comments! Betty Lou Hebert |
