French villanelle, I only say this because some might not realize why all the repetitions.

God's Gift

Every new day is given to me.
A gift from God above.
That is the way it always will be.

His light shines into eternity.
He sends all His love.
Every new day is given to me.

Sated with His love, forever I'll be.
My faith existing thereof.
That is the way it always will be.

I remember the day, I first made my plea.
I looked to the heavens above.
Every new day is given to me.

He fills my soul, and sets me free.
As I accept His love.
That is the way it always will be.

Never, would He depart from me.
He watches me from above.
Every new day, is given to me.

That is the way, it always will be.

Oh, nice, nice Floria. I don't know the requirements but I like the rhyming scheme very much. Your message is lovely too.

Strbbux,

Oh, you must know that I love French Vanilla ....
....Only kidding.

The villanelle is 19 lines in length and it contains 5 tercets and 1 quatrain and has a very rigorous rhyme scheme that repeats throughout the poem.  You've done good my poet friend.  I do like the structure of your poem here and it does flow very nicely.  Above all that though, I love your message.  Each new day is a glorious gift from GOD.  Amen.

-Bob

Thank you Bob, it was a challenge on another board. If I wasn't challenged to do it I wouldn't have written it. I would have written of my God but not necessarily a french villanelle. On the other hand, the challenge is good as it is a learning experience. I am not that knowledgeable in the different forms of poetry. I just write what I feel. thanks for your reply. floria
