My Winter's Village

She wraps her arms around me tight
To scourge my darkened world  in white
Her shoulders blend with slopes below
In laden path now white with snow
No carriage pass.  No crevice trod
Her chastened world redeemed by GOD
And only whispers soft are heard
In howl of wolf or chirp of bird
Above the scrub oak, birch, and ash
Where heavens merge in thund'rous flash
The billows rise o'er rooftop stacks
To mark each plot of  homestead's shack
Now, frozen snug in wint'ry glow
Of icicles slushed firm with snow
Though some that witness think it queer
My angel to the Earth draws near
My Winter's Village bundled in
To hold me close when storms begin
Until the days of spring arise
When once again we'll share blue skies.

(sigh) Sooooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, this sounds like a gorgeous spiritual love poem! (sigh) You are sooooooo romantic, sweet friend, may the angel of your life forever bring you light and happiness and dust your village with snow and crystals of beauty! being someone who loves the beauty of the winter, this poem was so lovely to me. Such beautiful words to discribe what God has created for us. Flowed very nicely also.

Beautiful, Bob! Hi from a former MTC immigrant! His Poet (Cheryl) told me you were here, so I just had to check out the site.

Your imagery, as always, is simply splendid. I could feel the warmth of God's love wrapped around the village to protect it on that cold winter's night.
