It was here.
Yes, it was here that I came and sat and listened to a teacher who taught,
I thought,
Like a novice.

His words;
Ahh His words!
Were like a naive romance.
Childlike.
Naked in a dance with innocence.
That forgives that that I can not forgive myself,
of myself.

Myself I remain,
In obsolete refrain.
Bound by obstinate flesh.
That knows only purpose,
Or a means to an end.
For treasonous folly to make ammends,
and dare do I,
Still call you friend?

I am the seed that falls among rocks!
I, the one who nailed you to the cross.
Am a beggar with dagger for the Lamb that is lost.
Here for what's on offer,
I count the cost.
For it is no sooner said than it is forgot.
Like a lovers' night time promise,
"I'll give you what you want."
In fetching your inheritance,
Bare feet over rock.

You can keep your money!
I'm no mercinary!
Forever in debt to a layby justice.
I've squandered myself on treachery that lays the world at your feet.
Now;
Are you not complete?

I admire you attempt at trying to understand one of the most complex people that Christ encountered. I love writing stories of Biblical characters and I've done many. But I just can't grasp the mindset of Judas so I've stayed away. Yours is well done. Cheryl

I sometimes think Judas was drafted.
I sometimes think how it would have been if Jesus had have lived to a ripe old age.
what would it have been like?
Jesus new his fate.

"go and do what you must do" Jesus said to Judas,or something like that.
This struck me as something destined, fated.
Also Judas did not keep the 30 peices of Silver, he returned the money to the church that built a school with the money.
These the are the reasons behind the poem.
take care everyone and God bless.

Mauddib,

Whoa.  What a challenge here you've made for yourself to personify the Bible Character named Judas.  I liked your comment that Judas was drafted or was it shafted? Anyway, he did have a pretty intense guilt complex in that after he betrayed the Lord he went out and hanged himself ... and I think you captured him and this event of history pretty darn well. Welcome and God bless you.
