With a Thankful Heart

There are many things in which to give thanks
Of those things, the bible highly ranks
It tells of God creating the earth, animals, and man
It teaches us all about His marvelous plan

God knew the first Adam would ultimately sin
The sin nature would pass down to each from him
God gave a promise of sending to earth one
to pay the price so victory over sin could be won

At God’s appointed time, a baby boy was born
delivered in a stable with no conveniences to adorn
His Mother, sweet Mary, must have smiled
as she gazed down at the face of God’s holy child

This child grew up and became a man
It would soon be time to fulfill God’s plan
He came to earth to pay for our sin
He died so new life for us could begin

He allowed Himself to be placed on a tree
He knew it would take that for you and me
His precious blood drops to the ground did fall
To His Heavenly Father He did call

As He hung there, He said, “It is finished” and died
His friend, John, stood with Mary as she cried
His body was removed, and then placed in a tomb
Had Mary realized, for this, He had been groomed

On the third day women came to the grave
Jesus’s body was not where He’d been laid
He had risen, His task was complete
He showed His disciples nail scarred hands and feet

His death caused the battle over sin to be won
You and I can have new life by believing in the Son
Confess to Him all the ugliness of your sin
Trust Him for salvation; new life for you will begin

Lift your voice in thanksgiving for His grace
Bow humbly before Him and seek His face
Rejoice in the fact His spilt blood has set you free
His face in heaven will be the first you will see

Bob; How very thankful I am for that precious blood.  Without it, we would be lost for all eternity.  Thank you for your reply.  Wanda

Wanda: How appropriate for the Thanksgiving season!  We do have so much to be thankful for, even when facing the problems of today.
Knowing He is always with us is such an anchor!

Your thankful heart reminds us how blessed we are to know the gospel and the freedom so graciously bestowed upon us, in such a pleasing way.
Thank you,

Rae; We have been truly blessed.  I have a friend who recently returned from Ukraine.  People there feel blessed if they have only part of a bible. When they receive a bible, it gives them such joy. We are so privileged here to have easy assessibility to God's Word.  May we never take that for granted.  Wanda
