So easy
To hate
To let the dredges of your heart
Spill out in putrid rage
We hurt
WE really hurt sometimes
We are sick inside
From pain
We are all the same
Yet some of us have a way
Of letting the healing
Take place
Before it ever emerges
To the surface
The pools of suffering
Are replaced
By calm seas of love
A sunkissed synergy
Of knowing
Of growing
Of learning
That is the only difference
Between hate and love
How it will evolve
How it will be evoked
With God in your heart
What is bound to be inside
Changes on its way out
If we would just let it
If we would just let him
Sift through the hard parts

your offering gave me the image of a jeweler repairing a watch..fixing, polishing, tuning...and then after we are fixed...he wears us on his wrist with pride...

to be restored and then worn with pride by the creator..it is amazing

Thank you

God has sifted out so much, and though at times some bad particles get mixed in again... just picks me up and sifts me again (what a true Best Friend)

This is lovely free verse as your words just seem to flow effortlessly straight from your heart.  Yes, God has a very calming affect upon the believer's life as you have very well demonstrated.  Bob <><

Hi RWood!    Nicely done description of how to just let the answers
flow to us, not forcing them from a human's touch.

You bring up a good point, that being that the more 'at peace' we are,
the less situations seem to negatively impact us.  Only by knowing and growing
can we reach that state of relaxed welcome of the future!

My best to you, SR
ps...thankx for your nice reply, Rwood....*s*

This is magnificent, Regina.  Oh, it is one I want to share with friends.  What a lovely message and creative, powerful way to tell it.

It has me thinking, "If you're strained, get a strainer."  I may have to try a poem with that theme, after all, I know the Perfect Strainer, He knows better than anyone the good food to keep and what to wash away.

Your poem would be great on a poster of a flour sifter, don't you think?!

May I share your poem with others?

Thanks everyone! I am rusty, but I have so much going on that it's gonna flow. I appreciate your fellowship in writing. It is an honor to be able to share here.
Sincerely,
Rwood

Every word rings true, and you wrote it so beautifully. What a wonderful world we would be living in if hate was never allowed to grow.
