We are but earthen vessels
Into whom The Spirit pours
The light of our salvation,
But He also give us doors,
Which we can choose to open
And although He guides the way,
We have to listen for Him
And the things He has to say.

This light that lives inside us,
Is directly linked to God
And beckons us to follow
On the pathway He has trod.
It promises the future
That the Bible tells about.
The garden of beginnings,
With the devil rooted out.

He knows that we are fragile
And how hard it is to be
A lowly, earthen vessel
Searching for eternity!

You knew I'd like this opener, right ?
Beautiful thoughts, poetess.

Betty, thank you for this lovely poem. I am reminded that it wasn't until I was in touch with my brokeness, that I knew God as my Lord and His strength is now mine. Ellie

This is a true message- showing the weakness & fraility of the flesh, and thus our great need for humility and trusting.  Yet God choses to entrust His Gospel in Earthen Vessels-showing His great power & confidence that we can serve His Holy purposes for our lives-
I appreciate you, Betty Lou!

Joyce, I loved this one.  Especially the beginning.  So much truth lies in here.  Well done!

Sometimes I think that no one understands, but God does, He created me in His image, this poem  tells me to go to Him, come into His comfort.  I like it.
