The following was written during last Sunday's message and completed ( ? ) this morning:

What are we to receive today?
for mistakes seem tempt
to lead astray
of the word
so planned for us on which to dwell

Scripture read
erroneously
'bout cutting self
while walking through
the tombs

Then closer still
he comes
regaling that
the happy ones
seek desires of God’s heart
therefore...

What Truth Shall Come?

And now the preacher
still bent, still bent
to speak his first intent
on being meek

Holding up beatitude
in contrast
of the world

That holds aloft
the power of might
in arms so full unfurled

So what is meek
what shall we seek
to follow the Word of Christ

Gentleness, self-control,
expert humility
Yet standing strong
in righting wrong
and keeping God’s children free.

Yes, meekness shown
is not milquetoast
but with power of
Holy Ghost

Shall it reign in one’s life
as the giving of control
which empowers
one’s whole soul

Ceding its full rein
unto the Lord of love and light
giving Him the guiding right

Virginia,
It soundslike to me you are under the influence of some mighty good preaching-How good of you to listen so well, and seek to share it with others as well!

I loved this one, VAS.  Especially the last stanza.  Bravo!

VAS,

Written very eloquently.  I feel that I have been there dwelling in the tombs before service and what a blessing to have such a change in character after.  Also, a blessing to know the "beatitudes" once again.....   Bob <><

I like this poem, especially how it flows, it's really sweet.

You are all so wonderfully kind in your comments.  So often I find myself wondering just what I'm supposed to get out of a particular service...especially when it doesn't go as 'mere humans had planned.'
