His face shines on mine
and I am evil, continually
but He washes me with blood
spilled in torment.

His eyes weep for mine and searched
heaven, for a place for me
and he forgives my foolish heart
and draws every tear from my soul.

His feet follow before me,
and behind me and He lives in me
and I know goodness and mercy.
I am flawed, I am saved.

His voice sounds the depths of many
waters and hears me and I respond
to him.

In poetry He is my verse, my life, my soul
breathing the words together and
I see His reflection.

Though I fail, I know I am blessed by
unending mercy through all circumstance.
He is my Lord and my God and in Him
and through Him I am complete without sin
for I stand in the light of his love.
