Into the woods, I ran away, To spend some time with God today. Far from the world of mundane things That hide the sound of angel's wings. The creek was running fast and free. It chortled happy songs to me And decorated with cachet. Wild flowers scattered, bright and gay! I listened to the wind in trees. And heard the varied symphonies From birds of many kind and hue, They sang to Him and I did too! Betty Lou Hebert |

How exquisitely beautiful! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

That's great. I like to sing, too. And It's a good idea for me to get away, too (with my voice). Melton |

Thank you all for commenting. Glad you enjoyed the poem. I would like to do this every day if I could. It is so therapeutic to be off by yourself and seeking God's presence. Betty Lou Hebert |

I ran away today as well: not to the woods, but to the beach. The voices heard were similar to yours. Such a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the author of beauty and all life. "I am not now that which I have been." |

Dear Julian: Thank you. I guess it doesn't matter where we run away to, as long as we are communing with God and nature. Betty Lou Hebert |
