We thank you God, for gifts of spring
and coming after winter's sting,
it is such a welcome season,
giving us another reason
to be thankful for Your care,
in this world that we all share.
While out of cold and barren ground,
green shoots appear and spread around
and soon become the blooms we love,
our eyes turn to the blue above
where birds of every size and hue,
sing greetings as they pass on through.
Each lovely day, enchantment grows,
with every sign of life that shows.
In trees, whose budding leaves unfold.
The daffodils of white and gold.
The creek, released from ice and frost,
makes up for days that have been lost,
by rushing madly to the sea
and this is where I want to be,
out in the wakened countryside,
just watching spring's advancing tide!

Thanks Joyce for commenting. I don't honestly know how much poetry I have. I've filled a four door file cabinet and have piles left. Not all of it is polished enough to publish however.
