If only I had touched His robe
or washed His dusty feet.
Had followed Him from town to town
and brought Him food to eat.
If only I had been alive
when Jesus walked and taught,
to hear His voice and see His smile
and miracles He wrought.

If only I had felt the love
emitting from His soul,
that wrapped afflicted ones about
and somehow made them whole.
I know He's still with us today/
I talk to Him in prayer,
but still, I wish I'd seen those times.
If only I'd been there!

Oh, Betty, How I've wished this many times over! Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

ellie: Wouldn't it have been wonderful if we could have lived in the times when Jesus walked the earth!

How many times I wished I'd have been there myself.

It brings to mind a scripture of "Blessed are those that do not see, and yet believe."
Because there were those who did see, and still didn't believe.

Still some yet only followed because of the miracles He performed.

You certainly have a wonderful gift of writing Betty! I'm glad you here to share it with us.

Beautiful! Sometimes I wonder about what it would have been like, to see Jesus in person and talk to him face-to-face. Well done!
