Once upon an Eternity
God said,"Let's take a break,
And I'll begin this thing called Time
To go with the worlds we create."

The WORD with power spoke it so
And the SPIRIT upon the deep moved,
To make of things a beginning--
To shape, to form, to smooth.

Day by day, for 6 days
God's creative Powers were unleashed,
Until the initial creation
By the seventh day had been reached.

And God surveyed the Masterpiece
Of man, beasts, planets, and seas,
Possesing infinite hues and potential
And God, Himself, was pleased.

But sin soon made it's debut
In the Garden of Adam & Eve,
The World became corrupted
Man, His Eden, was forced to leave.

But God promised to send a Savior
Sent uniquely through woman's seed,
To triumph over the sepent
To help o'ercome man's sin need.

But mankind continued to faulter
Until God said, "That's it!
If it weren't for Righteous Noah
With mankind, I'd say, I quit!"

So later, after God's Judgement
Washed away sinful man by a flood,
He chose a man He named Abraham
Through whom He'd show mankind good.

Through Abraham came a nation
And a People God claimed for His own,
To unfold His Divine Purpose
In sending forth His Son.

Yet even God's Chosen People
Divided and oft' went astray,
Through God's Powerful Providence
Even yet through Christ found a way.

When Time had reached it's fullness
God sent forth His Saving Son,
Born of Woman, under the Law
(To die for man, He'd come!)

Tho' man underdstood not His Mission
And with jealousy, Him they defied,
They nailed the King to the cross one day
Which with God's will fully complied.

But Death could not keep the Savior
He arose, as the Prophets foretold,
And ascended back to His Father
The Kingdom, His Church to unfold.

Thus we've been given the Gospel
To last to the end of all time,
Given by God, for man's saving
Eternity with Him, to find.

Again the Divine Son is comming
The world thus to judge by Him,
Meaning an end to all things
Time ended--Eternity again!

Once upon an eternity
Came the short interval of time,
When God took a break from forever
Redeemed man to save & find!

To put together words & rhyme--and touch a life--is so sublime! Thank God for such precious contact!  (D.L.White)

In contrast to the many fairy tales that begin with once upon a time, you have aptly begun your brief chuch history with "Once upon an eternity..."  So true is you title to describe a moment in time for our God who knows no limits of time.  God Bless You, Bob <><

You've succeeded in putting all in a nutshell in this one!  Very, very nicely done!  It really highlights the tremendous zest of God's awesome persistant love for fallen mankind.  Thank you.
