I watched the feather floating down,
And was reminded of what I once read,
That an angel was somewhere around me,
And this feather for me had been shed.
A glorious fall afternoon,
The sun ablaze in the sky,
But as I raked the fallen leaves,
Again I was wondering, why?
My thoughts were filled with confusion,
Though I tried to push them away,
So many feelings from the past,
Seemed determined, once more, to stay.
That's when I saw this feather,
And knew You were somewhere near,
For You had sent an angel,
To remove the lingering fear.
And as I took this white feather,
And held it gently in my hand,
I felt a warmth grow in my heart,
And began to again understand.
When I lifted my eyes to thank You,
An angel was soaring away,
And as she flew to Your open arms,
I knew peace would be here today.

The piece I read was "I Will Shed You Feathers..." by Sunshine, posted in Open #9....Thanks Karilea.

Listening to every heart

Ah Bonnie...a little voice was telling me to check in here, and look what I found!  As I started reading, I wondered "does she remember the post?" and I kept reading these wonderful words, and look at what I find at the very bottom...

ah little one, you are tugging on my heartstrings today, and I thank you very much for remembering...and I fear you've made me cry...

thank you...

Bonnie,
So touching this morning. I remember Sunshine's poem and relate to the significance of your feather.
How lovingly Jesus comes to us, bringing us peace, touching us, loving us, holding us.
How attentive He is to our little things, which, I suppose, are big in His sight. You have extended your blessing to us. I am blessed.       Marcy

Ah, Bonnie; This gentle loving poem really touched my heart. I love it when God does this, sends His love in little ways that are mighty in that they are usually filled with life changing Grace! Beautiful....Love, Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

How tenderly this tells of our heavenly fathers love...
one feather as angels are near.

Bonnie, what a wonderful image I saw as reading this. I began to think of feathers and this is what I saw. Something so light, free of weight or burdens. Something so soft, just like the heart of our Lord. Something so free, just as we are, free from the chains of sin and condemnation. If you haven't guessed by now I loved this piece Bonnie.
