The Possibilities Of What Jesus Gave For Me ~Marge Tindal~ 1999 To a virgin born - impossible. Proclaimed the King of Kings - impossible. He calmed the raging seas - just impossible. How impossible can it be? He made the blind to see - impossible. He gave His blood for me - impossible. He walked upon the sea - utterly impossible. Just how impossible, impossible can it be? He raised the dead to life - impossible. He turned the other cheek - impossible. Caused the mute to speak - how impossible. How impossible could it be? Gathered up the sheep - impossible. He cured the lepers sores - impossible. Asked for faith and nothing more - simply impossible. Oh, how impossible to me. They hammered nails into His hands - impossible. Adorned Him with a Crown of Thorns - just impossible. Hung Him on the cross - impossible Oh, how possible, impossible came to be. Father, forgive them - impossible. They know not what they do - impossible. The possibilities of what Jesus gave for me, so impossible to behold. Stone rolled away - impossible. Jesus rose that day - quite impossible. Ascended to the Father - impossible. I'm beginning to see, the possibility ... not so impossible, after all. What are the possibilities, that He gave His life for me? Just how possible could it be? Just how possible could it be? Think of the possibilities of what Jesus gave for me ... oh, how possible I now believe. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] [This message has been edited by Marge Tindal (edited 12-08-1999).] |

AMEN!!!! We think so many things are impossible, but look at all that possible stuff, the things that REALLY happened! How much more possible can we get! Makes things for us a lot easier if we see the possible side of things insrtead of the impossible! ------------------ ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |

Echo i totally agree! What an awesome poem Marge - it is true that when you think of the reasons for why people don't believe, it is because these things seem impossible! Isn't it so cool that ALL THINGS are possible when God's got a hand in it? (Did you hear about the guy who just got healed of AIDS?) Praise God for being a God of the possible! |

Denise - I am so very glad that you felt this one touch your heart, my friend. These simply stated words have reached so many hearts in my community. This past Sunday this poem was sung in my church by a Contemporary Christian group that set my words to music. Oh, Denise ... I can't tell you how moving they made it sound. There wasn't a dry eye in His house. All of this because I printed it out and took it to work with me. One of the gentlemen at work read it and asked me if he could take it home and 'play' with it. Awesome hearing it sung. Imagine my friends surprise when I told him I had first published it on Passions. I quickly added ... oh, the Spiritual Journey section ! Soooo glad to know that you read it. I kind of wish it was in #4 forum so it would get read by more. Thanks again, gal. ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

I liked your poem. It reminds me of myself 28 years ago, when I first started attending church. I stared at the map in the front of the sanctuary wondering if the destiny of the entire world could really hinge upon a man who visited only such a small sliver of land. I'd suggest that you change the words "parted the raging sea" to "calmed the raging sea, " so as not to confuse Jesus with Moses. |
