I need God she whispered and when she found Him tried to walk away from too. I need to surrender she whispered and as she said Here - take all I am - stole fragments, horded them in a secret place. - My child give it all to me - I need to sift through my mind she whispered and throwing junk out she said i need to keep this (reshelved it) I need to let go she whispered and when her fingers loosened their grip she said But not yet and held on tighter. - My child place it all on the cross - I need to put the past behind me she whispered and walking ahead of it she couldn't help but turn to check it was still there I need to focus on the future she whispered and as her eyes scanned ahead she panicked and tripped over hurdles in the present. - Child, my name is I am, not I was, or I will be. I need to i need to i need to she whispered and drowning in this sea of needs she heard Him say - float my child - let me carry and deliver you ashore - for you need not DO, my child, you need just BE. |

Amen, I have seen many people do this exact thing, myself included. I really like this alot. It makes me stop and think and I realize that I too am guilty of this. If I just BE then maybe something would go right in my life but I too sometimes feel the need to steer my own ship. I always end up on the sandbar. The hardest thing for me to do is this! My inner "being" is straining ever upward,striving for the "mark" of Christ-like excellence..& my feet of "clay" are stuck in the "muck"..therefore; I feel inside as if I am being torn asunder,ok. That which is "earthy" is clinging after the earthly sustainance,and that which is spiritual is seeking ever higher relations,,and the soul must make a decision which way it will go,this is the agony we feel..because torn between 2 drawings is pure torment. Paul understood what it is to cruicify or put to death the old man, so that the new creation inside could reign in our lives. Really liked this one, which means I can relate to your spirit..God bless..for sharing..Femme's Father.. |

Thanks guys - i didn't expect such a response!!! Well i'm glad we all struggle with this eh. (Isn't that nice? - i mean that i'm not the only one). I was inspired to write this after someone said to me that it was like i was trying so hard to please God by DOING things, when all along God's saying - you please me by just BEING who you are, and that touched me alot because there's always the feeling of needing to do so much to get your life in order - when really if we just be and let God take care of the rest, well you get the picture.
