Roses For Thee By © Richard Budig 1996 I found them by the fence In the early morning dew Wild country roses That made me think of you They nestled by the gate There upon the ground The way we used to cuddle Like puppies in a pound I couldn't help myself. So I picked a few, These dewy little flowers, Jeweled with tears for you Their scent was sweet Upon the morning air. I missed you so much, I wished you were there So I held them and prayed, O' please, come back to me, For don't you see, I have Sweet red roses for thee |
