Will you always remember? The way I became your sweet surrender? The words you said to me Like honey to a bee The way you summoned me to your heart The promise that we would never part The way you took me in Like a lost child accused of a sin Will you always remember? The day I became your sweet surrender? The sun shone brighter than a mother's face After the birth of her baby has taken place My heart found its way home As it fell in your hand I forgot of being alone The world I hated seemed to spin outside the front door The boat to my new life washed ashore Will you always remember? How you lost your sweet surrender? How you told her things she never knew The ways in which you'd been so untrue How she no longer mattered Her heart had been shattered How you lied those words to save yourself You never cared for anyone else You told her there was nothing she could do No one could try to change your view Will you always remember? The way you missed your sweet surrender? How the mornings seemed to be so far away Ever since the mistake you made How the nights seemed to linger and chew at your soul The in between feeling you couldn't make whole The way you started to be sure How you regreted what you did to her How you so began to long For the comfort of her song Till it was all you could crave And you, no one could save Will you always remember? The day you lost you sweet surrender? |
