God's Windowsill

A yearling fawn its thirst does slake,
At waters edge of ox-bow lake,
Tranquil pool of burnished glass,
Rimmed by sea of blue-stemmed grass,
As Helios sets in cloudless sky,
Chinook's warm winds have brought spring's thaw,
In cottonwood, black crow does caw,
Whispers of a pulsing breeze,
Singing nature's harmonies,
A great blue heron stands sentinel,
In silent guard of hidden dell.

A young boy tops a nearby crest,
And finds a rock on which to rest,
Then for an instant, time stands still,
As boy sits on, God's windowsill.

Thank you very kindly for you comments Blondie. I wrote this a month or so ago I guess... never have tried to get anything published, wouldnt know how to start and I just started writing poetry this year so don't know that I am ready for something like that even if it was possible...

Mike ... I read this before also ... it is breathtakingly beautiful.
Reminds me of how I feel when I go to the mountains of North Carolina and sit on the porch of the chalet, overlooking what must surely be ... God's Windowsill.

Yep, this is the one that I printed out for my grandchildren for their bedroom walls. Just magnificent. Thanks for reposting this, Mike!

Beautiful Mike, I remember this from last time you posted it. If you want to submit this to a publisher, let me know. I can give you some addresses of ones that would be interested.
