Silver eternity
A bottomless pit
A graveyard for papers
Or what else you see fit

A silver container
For bent paper clips
Gumwads and wrappers
And little paper snips

Foil and pop cans
Paper and pens
A desolate wasteland
For now and again

Sometimes foul odors
Come from this can
Created by nature
Put there by man

A weekly collection
It's empty again
In a few more days
It'll be filled up, and then

This cold piece of metal
Will be useful once more
To sit in its place
And used only for

Foil and pop cans
Paper and pens
A desolate wasteland
For now and again
