Red roses
written 11/18/99

Red roses eight,
soft blooms of glory,
each beautiful blossom
tells a story.

The first 3 buds
given after 2 weeks-
the rich-red color
matched the blush in my cheeks

The second 2 roses
after 5 weeks of love,
i knew right then
you were sent from above.

The last 3 you gave me
on the night of the dance...
which set the mood perfectly
for a night of romance.

Those 8 glorious roses
you bought as surprises,
and after each time-
there was a light in your eyes.

That light in your eyes
is your love for me.
It glistens and shines
and sets my heart free.

You are the man i love
to infinity and beyond.
of your heart and your mind
i am overly fond.

i love you so much,
though i don't always show it..
i take you for granted-
deep down i know it.

So i'll tell you right now,
I love you my dear,
I can't wait for the day
I can forever hold you near.
