In memory of A. Ahmatova

Last night, during my hours of leisure,
I remember, I wrote something exciting
But this morning, I awoke with amnesia
Unable to interpret my writing

As if someone was guiding my pen,
Directed by much stronger forces,
Not a word can I comprehend
For the exception of two simple verses

I know I won’t write nothing greater
To me, these lines are eternal
“...because I’ve ran out of paper
I write my thoughts in your journal”*
