I sit in contemplation of all that needs to be done, I see all that depends on me all that only I can do and unable to move to even start the mountain of stress grows taking a life of its own rooting me in place I cannot move, my limbs feel nothing but the apathy generated within Desperation becomes my banner the funeral shroud under which I lie clings to me with a lover's intimacy stroking my mind heights ever higher and boundless depths call to me with the urgency of my unwanted lover Bi-polar depression ©1999 DreamEvil ------------------ Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~. I know these feelings well, friend...especially the apathy. No matter what the heart wants, the mind numbs the ability to act upon it. You are not alone. Well done free verse, Dream. ------------------ "Tread softly, for I have spread my dreams under your feet"~~William Butler Yeats |

Been there, done that, got the shirt, coffee cup, coozie, etc. etc. Very eloquently put. |

I can relate well to the "unwanted lover" you speak of...very well done, Dream. Glad to see you expanding into the realm of free verse. Michael |

As your friend, I try to understand. With each poem you write to describe your depression, I come closer to knowing what you go (and others) go through. Thank you for an excellent free verse! |

As I have said, the free verse likes you well. You have captured this demon flawlessly. --Kess ------------------ You cannot choose the way of your death, but the path you choose will determine its own end. |

Love and hugs, -Amy- ------------------ Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices. |
