I sit
in contemplation
of all
that needs
to be done,
I see all
that depends
on me
all
that only I can do
and unable to move
to even start
the mountain
of stress
grows
taking a life of its own
rooting me in place
I cannot move,
my limbs
feel nothing
but the apathy
generated
within

Desperation
becomes my banner
the funeral shroud
under which I lie
clings to me
with a lover's intimacy
stroking my mind
heights ever higher
and boundless depths
call to me
with the urgency
of
my unwanted lover
Bi-polar depression

I know these feelings well, friend...especially the apathy. No matter what the heart wants, the mind numbs the ability to act upon it. You are not alone. Well done free verse, Dream.

As your friend, I try to understand. With each poem you write to describe your depression, I come closer to knowing what you go (and others) go through. Thank you for an excellent free verse!
