Reflection

Looking at you
Is like looking into a mirror.
So much of you
Reflects me.
I know those troubled eyes,
The turmoil that brims
Beneath the humor.
Your easy smile
Might camouflage your pain to others
But I can see past the façade.

Trust me.
I will not hurt you,
Betray you,
Or turn my back.

I’m here to help you,
If you’ll only let me.
Take my hand
And let me show you the way.

 It matters not how strait the gate;
How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
--W.E. Henley

When you have been down that same road it makes it easier to help others along.  Very lovely poem Tara.

The children at your school are very lucky to have an understanding person like you care about them. This was very well done

Sometimes it's hard to penetrate that wall, Tara.  I remember similiar words coming to me from Genny when we first met.  Beautiful poem, I hope it reaches the heart of whom it was intended for.

Wonderful words Tara. . .

It would seem that you have learned how to reach out to others. . . that you have heard that call. . .

Good luck, my friend. . .

Wonderful Work. The title itself grabbed me, then so did the poem. I love it.

Thank you everybody for your compliments on this piece.  The works that are inspired by my students are closest to my heart.  I'm glad they touch you, I hope they touch my students too.

Starboards, yes I'm always available if you need someone to talk.  I'm a pretty good listener.

Sven, I have definitely found my calling in this line of work.  I love being able to pour my heart and soul into it.
