Unsanctioned Love A love that's born of sudden storm Of that which came not of the mind Is one of life's mysterious moments But truly is a gift divine It matters not what course it takes What stream it follows, how swift the flow Nor what the fathom of its depth Nor what the hue in morning's glow Love cannot be taught a measure Its own volitient wing it flies But it never needs apology And no dishonor should it decry Unsanctioned love in all its longing Should be cherished for its worth Whether or not it consummated For the time it has on earth No guilt or shame should pass its doorway So let it be there in itself Celebrate its silent presence Allowed to consummate itself Elizabeth Santos |

Lovely. You bring images of the randomness of flow that is love. I enjoyed this very much. |

Elizabeth, Another gem another treasure, I'll tuck away for my leisure. I cannot tell you, how well you write, It would sound corny, your out of sight. *L* Sy |

The river flows, Where it leads, we do not know We can only hope that it leads us to one Who will give this love, a love of one. Beautiful as always Elizabeth. . . where do you find your ideas? That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

I like this, loved the feeling of just letting go and letting love take over...I am so scaird of that....for usually hurt follows love...but your poem makes it sound worth the risk ![]() |

Sven, Where do I find my ideas? In my heart Thank you for a beautiful response Liz lloveit, No I don't believe in taking risks. What I meant was to just let love exist and celebrate its existance, even if you can't be together. But don't deny it. Thanks for the comments, Liz |

I left work early today, not feeling well, so I am sitting here quietly reading before I go lay down for a little bit. I'll be back tonight, though! Denise |

Love flies on slow warmed wings feathers many hued the love of friend the love of child the sudden rush of love unallowed and many feathers fall lost in the swirl of loss and time But I agree - enjoy love while it is here, for each love is a precious thing.Beautiful verse, Lizzy. ![]() |

Kamla, I agree with the last part of your poem. Much can be lost from such a love if you were to fullfill the desires it brings. But we should allow it to exist and be happy in that alone. Of course, that would be next to impossible if you were close to that person. I'm glad I was never in that kind of situation. Liz |

I love that line "celebrate it's silent presence." We do need to acknowledge love wherever it may be.. ![]() |

Words of wisdom, my friend. Love ... the greatest emotion, sometimes enjoyed from a block away. Very lovely verse, Elizabeth. It flowed from a heart that sings. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Severn, Thanks for all your e-mails and "talks" You have been quite helpful. Seaangel, That is one thing I am thankful for - that I know how to love. It is truly a precious gift, if you're lucky enough to find it Marge, Words of love, coming from a heart full of love Thanks, Marge Hope you got your wrapping done Liz |

I really enjoy just sitting back & deciphering all the different renditions of Love that flow forth from out of all the hearts that are pouring out their cries unto someone or anyone..I envision the motive or the experience that has seeded the creation of each work of art...yes "ART"..for each poem or sonnet that comes forth from a person is a mirror of that soul..and that is precious--because no matter the content or the quality or the rhythm or the style or the topic; each is 100% precious in its' content, because each person is doing his or her utmost best and that makes all of them equal in my eyes and precious just like each one of us is precious in him-own-self..Liz, I Love your style and the depth of your ex- pressions. If you were a boat, you would be a submarine--ok! Each twist on a subject tells me about the experience of that persons life in that category.. Love you all James David "A man's heart can only tell of where he has walked"- - |

Femmes Father: Thank you for those remarks.I guess my poems aren't very hard to decipher, since I haven't learned the art of writing between the lines. I don't have much finesse, just tell what comes flowing out. Thanks Liz |

I like this one very much, Elizabeth! Sometimes, when love comes with many limitations placed upon it, it's easy to mourn what you can't have rather than celebrate what you have... and treasure the richness it's brought into your life! |

You're telling me you don't have "finesse" ???? Gees lady, if you only knew how much you have, your head would get big, so I'll just say I love every piece of yours I read! I know each is a gem! - - - If I can just touch you once, then I feel I have accomplished what I am called to do...- - pFF |

Dear Poet, Your words are very kind But my head will never get big, always humbled by the talent of so many great poets here at Passions. And especially by some of these young poets. I'm in awe of them. Thank you Liz |

This is very touching, I completely agree that sometimes you just have to let it exist and be thankful for it's presence, even when it's not exactly the way you wish. Real love is a blessing in our lives, just have to be wary of the imposters. Thanks for the uplift! ![]() |

Pepper, Your remarks are heartfelt, indeed. Thanks! Liz Caroline, Oh! You made my day! You should do this more often, dear. The cookies will somehow get baked. And when your life comes close to the end, instead of saying "I baked a lot of cookies", Your legacy will be "I loved him long and loved him well" Liz straet, Thank you for your remarks. You could have loved someone that couldn't be trusted. It may still be a great love on your part. The other part can be forgiven Liz |
