Such bravery, at six years old was the boy with bitter’d face. Who stepped outside into the cold with hopes to leave behind this place. A backpack with a teddy bear some crackers and his favorite coat were all he needed to get there, or at least that's what he wrote. I'll show them he stomped of griping they'll miss me when I’m not here. Mom with no face for the wiping. Dad with no chore helper near. Who needs em, he said, with insecure tone as he stood three houses down the street. I can live fine here on my own with nobody 'round to step on my feet. Nobody there to kiss me goodnight nobody around when I’m feeling blue nobody to leave on a little night light With nobody what’s anybody to do!! and so he turned quickly, from the world so vast some other time, this great place he'd roam And smiling, he walked to that place twice as fast, that one place that he and his family called home. |

I'm smiling here. My boys ran away one time, they made it about a block before they turned around |
