Preserved in time eternally
Pure unabashed expectancy
Those sacred vows sealed with a kiss
Bright smiling eyes that speak true bliss
Two loving hearts beat now as one
From this day on 'till life is done
Come dreams fulfilled or not to be
Love's captured there - exquisitely.

Now one last shot - sheer revelry
The shutter frames infinity
As past and future share a dance
As present sweethearts take a chance.

It's so easy to get lost in the promise of a picture--and sad that time changes and people move on, sometimes in different directions. I loved the last stanza--all of it.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Beautiful work Denise, but so often those sacred vows and promises are broken

Beautiful, my friend!   I do enjoy paging through the album of your poetry.

Nail to the mast her holy flag,
Set every threadbare sail-
And give her to the god of storms,
The lightning and the gale!

Thank you Eloise! Yes it was! Very inspiring! Both weddings. My youngest daughter was married last May and my oldest daughter was married last week! I am going to put this in both their wedding albums! And I'm really glad all the weddings are over with for me!
