Lying on soft green grass, trying to visualize
What we could see, through our own eyes.
Imagination running wild.
Just like when we were a child.

We all were looking up to find
A vision of a different kind.
Those white puffs moving slowly by
Create a story in the sky.

Way up there I can see
A dragon and a chimpanzee.
And oh, look over there.
Is that a dancing bear?

But as the formations shift, they slowly fade away.
Along with all the menagerie.
So keep the child within. Look up and be proud
That what you see floating, is more than a mere cloud.

Your welcome Denise.  And believe it or not, even though I'm old as dirt, I too can remember that far back!! LOL

I've done this, and I love to still do it with my kids.  We try to find shapes in the clouds all the time! Thank you for this sweet reminder!

Eloise -

Such remembrances
brought to mind ...
with verse of clouds,
so very fine.

In the skyline
of my younger day,
a bear, a train
and complete array
of elephants marching
in a row ...
trunk to tail
as they did go.

I am still
a child at heart.
I love cloud formations
as they impart
upon my mind
the zoo of my youth.

I seek to find
a meanagerie
of galloping elephants
running free ...
just the way
I'd want them to be.
