Just a country boy From lonely country cricket nights I wondered into city lights. From country grass and country feel, Into valleys of glass and steel. From country music foot and tap, Into whirling lights and city wrap. From country food grits and beans, To food dispensed by weird machines. From hay rides in the country night. To sofas and apartment lights. From country cider and country mash, To Irish whisky or any stash. From getting up at rise of sun, To sleeping through till day is done. From gleaming white of snow on snow, To dirty mush where cars would go. I think I prefer the country boy, To all this fancy hoi polloi. |

Seymore... Don't you know dear fellow poet, you can take the boy out of the country, but you can never take the country out of the boy. You will always be a country boy as I will always be a country girl. |

Seymour - Git yo'sef back to the country. Grits, 'taters and green fried 'maters. Country boy ... you done worked up a powerful appetite ! You are talking to a country gal here for sure. Acres and acres of acres and acres. I loved this reminder of where our roots are buried ... there grows our soul. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now ... Miss Lizzie my friend ... A POET could eat GRITS anywhere he wants! Ain't cha' ever heared tell of grocery stores? ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Seymour another country girl here. To phrase a country song, "i was raised on country sunshine". Need a break my friend? The country is a healer for the soul. I love this. Simply divine. B Gravitt |

Sy, this is a good one. The wording and the phrases are very clever and constructed excellently. Good mind at work here. |

Good ol' country boy! You describe it well. I like to be in the country, well, if I'm still close enough to civilization that is. I'd rather look at the beauty of snow then the dirty mush of traffic too! Wonderful Seymour. |
