The world is your garden If you've used a sword to tame And the shield, of who's to blame, Then you've used excessive power, Just to smell a simple flower. If you've killed a dragon in his shrine And have left a bloody trail behind, Then you've used excessive power, To smell the scent of a flower. If you've cursed the face of trend, Then just try another end, If not you've used excessive power. Just to smell a simple flower. Do not shield, but try to yield And you will find yourself afield. Waking in a realm of hours, Smelling a world of flowers. But think you not the world of yield, Is easier, than the sword and shield. |

Beautiful, Seymour. True, to yield takes far more courage than to fight! This is so wonderful! Denise |

There's wisdom in this, you know! Great poem, Seymour. And a true one too. Jim "If I rest, I rust." -Martin Luther |

To yield one's pride in one's stride as one hurries to do right, not wrong, catches you up if you go too fast, and {bomp} on your head you go, "bong!" So while you are down there on the ground there, amid all the flowers sweet, take a bit from Sy's poem, do not roam, from where the flowers are at your feet. |

I enjoyed your poem. I got a feeling a Zen sort of feeling from it actually; a sort of "if you just ride the ebb and flow of life then yo will truly experience life" feeling. Anyway, I liked it. --blewaway5 |

O Sy, great wise man of the...South, North? Oh well, wherever you are... Please tell me, will my harvests be fruitful this year? Will my twelve eldest sons find suitable wives? hehe - this is a wonderful piece, my friend. |
