The Deep and Silent Wood by © Richard J. Budig 1995 Snow is gently falling in the woods. Distant smoke rises to the stars. An old owl calls to a rising moon. In the stillness, I listen for your voice. I know that before the sun rises again, I want to look into eyes that I love, and hold the hands that once held mine. I want to visit the night away and when dawn's first light finds us, we'll be asleep in the deep and silent wood. [This message has been edited by broker6 (edited 12-07-1999).] |

Broker, I really like your poetry. "Glory remains unaware of my neglected dwelling where alone I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me." -Charles Brugnot |

Oohhh....I really liked this! I can actually hear the noises one hears when in the woods! Really nice poem - short and sweet !! It had lots of emotion in it though !! Great little read! - - - If I can just touch you once, then I feel I have accomplished what I am called to do...- - pFF |

Richard - This is very, very pretty. There is serenity here. ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
