The Deep and Silent Wood
by © Richard J. Budig 1995

Snow is gently falling in the woods.
Distant smoke rises to the stars.
An old owl calls to a rising moon.
In the stillness, I listen for your voice.
I know that before the sun rises again,
I want to look into eyes that I love,
and hold the hands that once held mine.
I want to visit the night away
and when dawn's first light finds us,
we'll be asleep in the deep and silent wood.

Broker, I really like your poetry.

I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me."

Oohhh....I really liked this!  I can actually hear the noises one hears when in the woods!  Really nice poem - short and sweet !!  It had lots of emotion in it though !!  Great little read!

Richard -
This is very, very pretty.
There is serenity here.
