Tossing and turning from side to side.
Trying to elude this nightmare inside.
The midnight fantasy has come to a halt
While univited guests are trying to assault.

The scenario playing inside of my head
Are of spiders and bugs creeping around on this bed.
They creep and they crawl and they bump in the night.
The terror I'm feeling is quite a fright.

All shapes, size and colors looking so mean.
They are the ugliest I've ever seen.
Flies, ants, black widows and lightning bugs too.
And here I am, without even a shoe.

Swatting and smacking these creatures away.
These covers are now in complete disarray.
Tumbling and rolling I fall to the floor.
Thrilled to awaken to a dream, nothing more.

Being something of an insect collector, I feel the creepy-crawlies are a bit maligned.

'Tis an excellent verse.

Eloise -
Well, I hope the image of this one
doesn't stay with me into the night.
LOL ... I think I'll just stay awake.
