Of December's Love
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

The days turned the pages
of the calendar so fast.
Here it is December,
this month saved for last.

I have often wondered
why it wasn't first ...
for it beheld the joy
of the celebration of His birth.

The Christmas carols sung
at the manger of our King.
Born merely a babe
in clothes of swaddling.

Through the years it's celebrated
in many different ways.
Christ is the King from Bethlehem
the stories do proclaim.

December's love comes in
and sheds it's light on us.
Remember the little babe,
born in the Father's trust.

The greatest gift of all
layed beneath the tree,
is the joy of the birth
that set us all free.

Free to make mistakes
and then to ask and to believe,
the miracle of forgiveness
waits for you and me.

December's love,
I'm thankful, once again,
for stories to share with friends
and greetings of love to send.

Marge,
This is lovely!
There's love in everything you do, it seems
And you're always there for us
Thanks for today

The poem is great, Marge - but could you do something about the cold weather?

Nan -

December's cold
is nothing to compare
to the warmth of the love
we find in here.

Turn the heater up,
throw another log on the fire.
Friends will sit at the hearth
and warm your hearts desire.

What a way to look at it! You've about summed it up, now if we could have all this year round, except the cold weather of course.

I sometimes forget, as I am sure others do too, what Christmas really means. This was a wondeful way to get me thinking. I love it, and I think it says it all!

Beautiful, Marge. Maybe if December love is great enough it can spill over into January so it begins and ends the years. As your poem shows us, wouldn't that be wonderful!

OhMe - December has enough love to last the whole year through. And it come gift-wrapped in your friendship.

Hoot - Thank you, my friend.
Elizabeth, my friend - The warmth glows from within ... for that is the way with friends.

Say-no-more -
HELLO? Now who did he say? *she smiles*
WHO?
