A place you've never been

I'd like to take you on a trip
To a place you've never been before
A place of warmth and peaceful rest
And friendliness and opened doors

There is a barn on gentle hills
A village old with winding way
And colored birds on leafy branch
And blooming tulips line the way

A bird of peace, a gentle dove
A parrot of both red and green
And other birds and other leaves
And warming hearts, a place serene

People's faces looking through
From long ago and far away
Silhouettes against the sky
Delicate and fine bouquet

A girl and boy gather grapes
He holding her in warm embrace
It is a scene of purest love
A look of peace upom their face

A gentle deer stands in the field
A tiger looks you in the face
Someone stands on wooden brige
Another walks with gentle grace

And music beats to waiting ear
Percussion's strong and rhythmic sound
Brazilian beats from Africa
The strange, old instruments abound

This peaceful place, it is my home
The birds and leaves do grace the walls
It is the art of Pennsylvania
Richest folk art of them all

The perfect tree in ScherenSchnitte
The theorem paint on velvet back
And richly colored fractur work
And bright bouquet on field of black

And every bird, a bird in hand
A special meaning to each one
Wishes for tranquility
Peace and love and happy home

The barn is water color art
The village, too, by running stream
The places that I know so well
The local artist's painted scene

Currier and Ives most lovely print
"Young William and Mary" gather grapes
Paintings in reverse on glass
And maps of old from other age

Sketch of deer by artist son
Modern paintings from Brazil
Colored colors fill my life
And give my heart a daily thrill

Now you've toured my home with me
On walls of white the colored art
No matter where I'd ever live
The colorful would be a part

P.S. But wait, there is still much more
Next time we'll do the second floor

Can't wait for the next shift.
Lovely, Elizabeth. Simply lovely.

Thank you for taking me on this majestic tour of your first floor gallery. This brought back memories of a movie, "What Dreams May Come". Our life through art is greatly enriched.

Elizabeth. . .

Thank you for showing me around
The first floor
I can't wait to see what's found
Behind the next door. . .

What a gracious touring group
Who'd have guessed, who'd ever think?
Before you move on to the next
Please sit down and have a drink

...ummmm...if you're out of cheesecake, pumpkin pie will do just fine! Or any kind of pie! And if you're out of tea, coffee will do!

Denise,
Yes, were out of pumkin pie
But I can serve you dry shoo fly
We'll dunk it in our glass of milk
And wash it down as smooth as silk
And when we're done, for goodness sake
We'll have a piece of A-Pea Cake
Come on over!

Shoo-fly pie I'll pass on by
I find it just a bit too dry
But milk with cake sounds very good
I'd come right now, yes, if I could
Rebecca, too, would fit right in
She'll bring some cheescake in a tin
And Marge can catch a flight I'm sure
We'll all converge upon your door
In fact I'll bet that ev'ryone
Would like to join us for the fun
And take a tour of your house grand
The best in Pennsylvania Land!
