Ok, so I'm blatantly trying to make some points for missing so many classes the last few months. Besides, we need more sonnets. The whole world needs more sonnets. Apple For Teacher An apple for the teacher in my hands And how I wonder what she'll have to say; Will she be mad? I hope she understands, There's nothing else - it's all I have today. I worked so hard to get my homework done And didn't play at all or waste my time At foolish tasks or games, no not a one But wisely spent my efforts writing rhyme. I'll blame it on my little dog Jerome, The one who always greets me at the door Exuberant with joy that I came home, Afraid, I think, I would return no more. I really did the homework but it's gone; He ate the paper it was written on. |

Hi Pete! This sonnet is such fun. I think that you will probably make all sorts of points with this one and that Miss Nan will probably even believe that bit about Jerome, simply because it makes such a fun poem. Shenachie |
