I wrote this using an old poem of mine. She stood watching the hill sniffing the burning sage her fur ruffled by hot dry wind alone shadows cast by night’s moon touching a strand of trees a song that was coyote born in dark searching for shade or glade there is nowhere to hide waving water has been licked dry no rain |
