Next door, I've been talking in cinquain.... Remember, most of these were written in answer to people's comments & questions, or as replies to other folks' poems......Just wanted to put 'em all together....

Thanking Ericc

So clear,
So beautiful;
Not just a falling tear,
A touch, a story. Your own words,
So clear....

To wayoutwalt

Conundrum

Hatred,
Now a more.
Fear comes with the groceries.
Are we saved by, and from, rockets'
Red glare?

Praying, With Nan

Praying,
Humanity
Asks God for protection,
Begs security from those who
Are not.

To A New Kid

Shiver
You're making me
Shiver, but why do I
Not mind in the least, this little
Trembling?

To Seymour Tabin

Caught me
Watching like you,
Musing as the sun comes
Over a cool horizon, and...
Rocking.

To Titia Geertman

Dutchie:
Most often blond,
Talks in spliced sentences,
Seven long clauses, then a verb.
Charming!

Elizabeth Santos' Invitation

Sonnet?
Not my forte,
Love poems not my way
But since you ask so sweetly, well...
OK

Cat Petting

Arching
As I touch her,
Warm fur soothing my hand;
Do I pet my cat, or does she
Pet me?

Purring,
Soaking it up,
My cat warms the whole room.
I mean, she warms it even while
Sleeping.

Cuddle
Your cat often;
Make a fetish of it.
Cats are more loving, and cheaper
Than sheep.

Nice thought--
Naughty and Nice!
Ratleader's still laughing
Because his verse was SO naughty
And nice.

Rub, rub.
Rub, purr, meow!
Muzzle nuzzle, lick, scritch,
Nose-rubs, side-rubs, even tail rubs:
Cat pets!

Cat talk
The easy words,
Easy smiles, remind me:
My cat now stalks her mice among
The stars.

Hating The Cub Scouts

Hate them.
They shut me out,
Their mothers cold, polite.
But I know these men, like some now—
Like them.

Cinquain
The more I write,
The easier it gets.
It's a great way to sharpen your
Pencil.

Boy Scouts
Shut my boys out.
Scout Troup Four Forty-Two
Thought they weren't good enough; now they're
Eagles.

Cuddling
Isn't CUDDLING,
Sleeping isn't SLEEPING;
And "In bed," of course, never means
IN BED

A Reply To Martie's Lines

Wanting
To leave you there
Watching the tree-lined street
From this bench, my air-tangled hair
Takes flight

Gentle Spirit's Gentle Spirit

Gorgeous
Gentle spirit,
Who sings of wind and hill,
Thank you for soft harmony, your
Blessing.

Crop Circles

Shouting,
“Yes, we were here!”
Whispering, “They were not.”
Like starlets, wonderful even
If false.

Mr. Frazier's Dove

A dove
Coos on your roof--
Though I've no right to talk,
I could help you; on my roof there's
A hawk....

Stone Fairies

Fairies,
Stones in twilight,
Dance in a barley field.
Around, around, all falling down;
Stonehenge.

For Paladin's Fog

Grey fog
Mutes the senses,
A cold blanket that leaves
A cloud without, a cloud within.
Silence.

The Battle Of Pea Ridge

Pea Ridge:
Not long enough.
No time enough to soothe
Anguish from gray Arkansas eyes.
No time.

Mimosa Pudica

Touch it,
Only touch it,
One sensitive leaf, and--
It wilts like an umbrella; like
This man.

On nakdthoughts' Verses

A well,
Deep, fresh and full
Of love lies within you.
You dip from it for every word
You write.

Cinquain
Sets the limits:
Say only what you must,
And focus your words for a strong
Response

On Sweet Serenity's
Rejection Poem

So sweet,
Serenity,
and yet so very hard;
like a new pocket knife, shiny
but sharp.

And Temptress' Tempting Lines

Keen eyes,
incisive wit.
Will she be a marksman
or a lover, a temptress or
vixen?
