Down the hall in a room lies a book on a shelf. It's old cover is worn, much like me and myself. Most it's pages are torn and it's tattered as well. Much like me and myself, got that "old" kind of smell. You might say we're a pair, me and that musty book. Then again to be fair, you should take one more look. We've both stories to tell not yet lost in the haze, we recall them quite well, from our old glory days. Gather children around, tuck them in for the night. Hey ! Dagnabbit you clowns who turned out the durned lights! |

Dear Teach, Hey , don't fret, school's out pretty soon. Like you said, I need a vacation! I'm taking two whole days off from work ( but not necessarily from writing )! This is the most fun I've had in class since I can remember. You have challenged us well. The gears are turning, thoughts are churning , fires burning, ever yearning, in the glowing of the knowing, here is where I'm meant to be, learning to write poetry. Doc |

Amazing how you come up with different meters so easily Doc. |

This is great Doc! I found Anapestic the hardest to play with. My mind wanted to slip back into iambic on me ... but you've done a wonderful job! |

Munda, Thanks. The truth of the matter (meter?) is that very few times when I set out to do a specific poem, a specific way, does it actually come out like that. It's honestly more trial and error ( and error, and error). Like this one , I was actually tring to write in anapestic trimeter, but I guess that just goes to prove ( yup, two out of three ain't bad ). Doc Kit , Thank you. I've found that once the meter has been established, it's not that difficult for me to stay with it, just that I'm not all that familiar with all the different styles, and sometimes think I'm writing in one, when it turns out to be something different. Thanks again. Doc |

Doc--I haven't even attempted anapestic. Go to the front of the class! Shenachie |

Bridget, Thanks. The anapestic part wasn't all that tough for me ( da da Dum ) but counting to three really threw me off! Doc |

ROFL. Great Doc. Looks like perfect anapestic to me. And even if you were shooting for trimeter, well, you still got perfect dimeter. Nice job, Pete |

Pete, Thanks. I sometimes get a little carried away with the writing and tend to forget the small details like form, meter, wether I walked to school or bought my lunch. But hey, every once in a while it pays off and I learn something (I'd say that's a fair trade). Doc |
