If the seeds of our hopes were to bloom, what new forms might their blossoms then take? To emerge from the half light of gloom, certain fears one must try to forsake. There are risks to each crop that we'd reap, yet in truth lay reward for such toil. In the light of these facts one must keep, eyes upon more than just vacant soil. For some few may achieve at no cost, what the rest through their strife never will. In the end nothing ventured is lost, bearing fruit in the form of new skills. In the garden that's planted this way, over time may appear a new breed, one that grows in the knowledge that they may someday become more than a weed. |

Very good, Doc! Replace "their" with "there", which was obviously just an oversight, and it is an excellent poem |

Balladeer, Done, and once again, thanks. If I'm not mistaken this is the elusive form I have been trying for ( anapestic trimeter ). But, then again it's not for me to say, I only write the darn things. Doc |

Thanks Teach, Sometimes it take me a while, but I'm nothing, if not persistent. I've posted another in open ( thought I'd cluttered this place up enough ) if you'd care to stop by it's "Where We Belong", and again thanks for a most enjoyable month. Doc |

Hey Doc! Looks like you get the "A" this month (well-deserved, I might add). Now you have anapestic downpat. (Much impressed, here.) But if you get Miss Nan's apples, I'm gonna throw a tantrum! Shenachie |

Yep, you finally got there. Nan is right (but of course she always is). I too count 3 feet on each line. Either you write a whole lot faster than I do or you have too much spare time on your hands. I think this makes about 15 poems you have submitted this month while I only did one and it was an old one at that. Good job, Pete |

Bridget, LOL, I don't know about an "A" , but I had a lot of fun ( and learned a few things. It don't get much better than that. Thanks. Doc Pete, I don't think it was quite 15, but there were so many different things to try I lost count. Time on my hands? (I wish!). My job does not require a lot of thought (mostly repitition) which allows me to think about other things as I work, in that way I guess I'm pretty fortunate.Thanks. Doc |
