it's raining and I'm sitting here
it seems that I am stuck you see
no use today for my cutting gear
it's always raining when I am free

it seems that I am stuck you see
so I must do some other chores
it's always raining when I am free
okay, okay I'll scrub the floors

so I must do some other chores
hey, I know where I'd rather be
okay, okay I'll scrub the floors
let the housewife in me free

hey, I know where I'd rather be
so this is what I'm going to do
let the housewife in me free
and then I'll write a poem for you

so this is what I'm going to do
I'll scrub the floors untill they shine
and then I'll write a poem for you
while I am sipping a glass of wine

I'll scrub the floors untill they shine
no use today for my cutting gear
while I am sipping a glass of wine
it's raining and I'm sitting here

Kewl - I love this piece, Titia.. Your theme is great - Your rhyme scheme formatted well - and almost perfect iambic tetrameter...

I enjoyed muchly, m'friend..

Excellent. Cute theme, well developed and it just rolled right through from beginning to end.

Thanks,
Pete

"let the housewife in me free"

I loved this poem!... and I can relate to letting the housewife free, every few days to make the house sparkling and new...

You may be stuck with working in the garden, you're most certainly not stuck with Pantoum!

Thank you all my friends, sorry for this late reply, but I'm a bit busy with my lambs at the moment.

Titia,
I'm glad you didn't scrub this. It's witty, well thought out,  and executed with style.
