Apple For Teacher An apple for the teacher in my hands And how I wonder what she’ll have to say; Will she be mad? I hope she understands, There’s nothing else – it’s all I have today. I worked so hard to get my homework done And didn’t play at all or waste my time At foolish tasks or games, no not a one But wisely spent my efforts writing rhyme. I’ll blame it on my little dog named Zach, The one who always greets me at the door Exuberant with joy that I came back, Afraid, I think, I would return no more. I really did the homework but it’s gone; He ate the paper it was written on. |

This is cute. I've been trying to write a sonnet, but my mind just won't work in iambic pentameter. You seem to have it down pretty good here. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Almost missed this beauty. I love sonnets, but they're still difficult. Titia A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess... |

Not, This was fun reading and one of these days, I will attempt a sonnet. I hope that you had as much enjoyment writing it as your readers enjoyed the reading. Thanks for sharing. Shenachie |

Ladies, thank you so much for reading and commenting. I'm pleased that you enjoyed it. And yes, it was fun to write. But I love to write sonnets anyway. Thanks, Pete |
