Oh bleak ! To mourn ! What angle's this ? / The tangled string of daily life that slants my thoughts to dis-array / cat's cradled in these hands gone numb Pythagoras , be still thy tongue / Un-heeding I cast off your rules for I am young and wish to play / you'll not trap me beneath your thumb Obtuse you say ! but nay m'lord / My thoughts are those that soar above your labels do not seem to fit / your mundane world of cold , hard fact By what degree do you profess / To rule by slide is not to love to understand illogic's wit / how should I say this with some tact ? The sum of the hypotenuse / If you'll indulge me for a sec most surely is much lesser than / ( pursuant to hilarity ) the daydreams of poetic moose / Though we may not have a full deck with possibilities they span / there may be more cards there , you see And you may rest assuredly / you geometric whiz of old That they possess more sides than three / or so by shrinks I have been told |

Hah! I loved this one! The theme was amazingly well selected, and I noticed you improved your iambic meter! The whole thing was great when I read it through together and as separate poems, I would have to say that this is my personal favourite of the ones we've been able to conjure from this assignment. ![]() Very nice job! ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

Allan , Many thanks for the reply . I do enjoy a good challenge ( although they sometimes make me talk to myself and/or deceased mathmaticians ). I posted a reply to your entry , but somehow it dissappeared ( maybe it was my comment about a paradelle universe) Actually that was meant as a compliment but could have been misinterpreted .To re-state , I thought your piece to be very well crafted , and a very enjoyable read . I think it requires a special talent to make the illogical turn into logic, or make sense from nonsense and all that in iambic tetrameter (if I am correct! ![]() ![]() In all honesty Doc... I think this is great writing! ![]() |

Munda , Many thanks to you for your overly generous reply .( and here I thought you were going to be a tough grader )Now I'm going to have to quickly remove that tack from your chair seat before anything happens that I might regret . Doc |
