Note: The only point of this poetry is fun ![]() Forgive me if I misunderstood the workshop's theme ![]() "EXOTIC - Who Me?" High above, atop a forty-inched hill, a centimetre long, brown skinned, winged, working member of the Formicidae family guarded the fortress of his Tribe armed with sharp antennae. At the appointed hour, another centimetre long, brown skinned, winged, working member of the Formicidae family came to replace him, to let him take leave of his duties for the day. As they exchanged poses, the newly arrived sighted, at a wee corner, a tiny personal note. Asked he, "what may this be? The note, "Exotica sighted" "Biped, huge-200 times large without wings, without sensors, covered with strange green in the middle of its bulk (I think was a leaf). It saw our fort from faraway almost from 300 body lengths away. I noticed it trembling looking at our kingdom and my mighty spear and later disappear. It was quite queer I hereby call it a MAN" ~ Same time, at another place ~ Adam rushed to Eve rushing in huff. "Eve", he shrieked "Where are you? Did God not tell you not to eat the fruit? Look what you have done" As his sound trailed off, Eve woke up to his story and asked "What may it be?" "What have we done?" "The fruit that we ate was so sweet, how could it possibly cause any wrong?" To this Adam replied "I just saw a mound under an old tree, very much as the one beneath which you rest, where armed was Lucifer's child Exotica, With wings and legs, though just as big as the finger's nail; Face full of wrath, Brown as mud itself camouflaged in the sand, eyes with flamed ire red as this fruit that you just ate." Eve, the ever so wise, said quietly, "Peace my dear, God will protect us from the pest in His safe arms, we will calmly rest. Even if we reach our end, Greetings to Him we will send, In the message to God For the sake of naming we shall address this angry pest as an ANT" ![]() ---------------------- Student's Notes: EXOTICA: Things that are curiously unusual or excitingly strange: such gustatory exotica as killer bee honey. ANT: Important derivatives are: along, end, ante-, advance, anti-, antic, antique, until Variant form *anto-. Vedanta, from Sanskrit anta, end ANT: Any of various social insects of the family Formicidae, characteristically having wings only in the males and fertile females and living in colonies that have a complex social organization ------------------------ Hope you all enjoyed... regards, sudhir |

Jim, I am extremely thankful for your kind words... Presently I am now in a spot of bother... been away from this place only for 4 days and I feel like I am lagging behind by 3 weeks.. so I can't promise another poem any more for the Exotica work shop... but I will promise I will give my best try... regards, sudhir |
